MSP Well was founded by two long-standing leaders in the MSP and cybersecurity community, Joe Ussia and James Mignacca, who share a simple belief: the people behind the protection deserve just as much care as the systems they defend.
For decades, MSPs have carried the invisible weight of always being “on,” solving crises in the background, and supporting businesses that can’t afford to go down. But while the industry has evolved, one thing hasn’t: the lack of open conversation and meaningful support around the mental health challenges MSP professionals face every day.
Joe is the CEO of Infinite IT, an ISO certified Managed Service Provider headquartered in Toronto, Canada. Throughout his career, he has been deeply rooted in the IT channel—serving on the XChange Advisory Board since 2019 and previously co hosting IT4Whiskey, a podcast created by MSPs for MSPs to share real stories, honest conversations, and lessons from the field.
His passion for the community has always centered on giving back, elevating the professionalism of MSPs, and creating environments where peers can learn from, support, and genuinely connect with one another.
James is a seasoned cybersecurity entrepreneur whose commitment to mental health advocacy was shaped by deeply personal experiences: supporting his father through serious illness, battling his own panic attacks, and ultimately seeking therapy.
Through that journey, he learned an essential truth—mental health isn’t a weakness; it’s part of being human. His openness, vulnerability, and willingness to share his story have become a cornerstone of MSP Well’s mission.
Together, Joe and James created MSP Well to transform their experiences into action.
MSP Well is an independent, community driven nonprofit dedicated to giving IT channel professionals a place where they can:
• Talk openly about stress, burnout, and mental health
• Access meaningful resources and practical tools
• Support one another without judgment
• Be reminded that they don’t have to carry the weight alone
This is a movement built by the channel, for the channel — one conversation at a time.
The founders have drafted the MSP Well Not For Profit Charter, which states:
• No member of management or the board will ever profit or personally financially benefit from MSP Well.
• Every participant is a volunteer dedicated to helping others on their mental health and wellness journey.
This ensures MSP Well remains a mission first organization, focused entirely on supporting the people who keep the IT world running.
As a collective of peers, friends, and colleagues, we are building a safe space where the IT channel can show up authentically—where people can share, express, learn, and grow without fear or judgment.
No stigma. No shame. No pressure.
Just real support, real conversations, and real people who care.
Because you are not alone.
The IT channel moves fast and the pressure is real. When we work together, we can build a culture that values mental wellness, supports open conversation and lifts the people behind the technology we all rely on.
